Geomview running Orrery. Planets increased in size for visibility.

March 2014Geomview 1.9.5 released

Geomview is an interactive 3D viewing program. Geomview lets you view and manipulate three-dimensional objects: you use the mouse to rotate, translate, zoom in and out, and so on. Geomview can be used as a standalone viewer for static objects, or as a display engine for other programs which produce dynamically changing geometry. Geomview can display objects described in a variety of file formats. Geomview comes with a wide selection of example objects, and you can create your own objects too.

Geomview runs on most Unix platforms, including GNU/Linux and Mac OS X. Geomview can run under Microsoft Windows in a variety of ways. Geomview is free software available under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License (GPL).

Geomview was created at The Geometry Center at the University of Minnesota. Although The Geometry Center has since closed, Geomview is still used by thousands of people around the world. Through the volunteer work of the original authors and other contributors, Geomview continues to evolve.
