Problems installing Geomview

I am trying to install geomview on my SGI and I am running into a 
tape blocksize error when the tar command gets to the file
Geomview/modules/sgi/transformer.  I've downloaded the whole thing twice
and I get the same error.   If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.
