[ REQ 5038]: geomview users & Sun XGL
OK, you're on the list! Adapting for XGL sounds interesting, at least if you're going to do the work. We'd tried to do that in the distant past, but found that XGL was essentially useless on normal hardware (GX accelerators) since geomview required Z-buffering and XGL couldn't use the accelerator when that was enabled. Maybe if you've got a ZX accelerator, it would actually be helpful. > From kml at mathcs.emory.edu Thu Sep 1 10:21:57 1994 > Date: Thu, 1 Sep 1994 11:21:53 -0400 > From: Kevin Lahey <kml at mathcs.emory.edu> > Apparently-To: geomview-users-request at geom > > Please add me to the mailing list; I'm going to be working with the > X11 version on a Sun to try to incorporate xgl support to speed up > the rendering. > > Thanks, > Kevin > kml at mathcs.emory.edu > http://www.mathcs.emory.edu/~kml
