[ REQ 5150]: Cannot Compile geomview (x11)

I just downloaded geomview (the x11 src) and am trying to compile
it. But I have problems.
In makefiles/Makedefs.SUBDIRS under DO_DIRS_THIS_MACH you have the
following case statement:
        case $$dir in                       \
          O.*)                          \
            if [ $$dir = O.${MACHTYPE} -a -f $$dir/Makefile ] ; then \
              echo "\tcd $$dir ; ${RMAKE} $@" ;         \
              ( cd $$dir ; ${RMAKE} $@ ) ;              \
            fi                          \
        ;;                          \
That tells me that under $dir (in this case O.x11) I should find
a file "Makefile". But none of the O.x11 directories have a Makefile
eventhough the "FILES" file lists a Makefile.

Am I missing something?
Was something not included in the distribution?
