Maybe sending us the files would be best -- it's hard to guess what
might be happening without more information.  This doesn't sound like
normal behavior -- it should be possible to load additional files.

Also, when geomview dies, does it print any error messages first,
does it produce a core dump, any other information?

It might also be relevant which version of geomview you're using, and on
what type of computer (SGI, Sun, etc.).
