First, you should probably get the most current version of
Xforms.  It's available from http://bragg.phys.uwm.edu/xforms.
Next, general advise for porting modules from SGI forms to
Xforms:

	* Remove all calls to GL functions, ie: foreground,
		winpop, prefposition, etc...
	* Add a call to fl_initialize as the first line of main(),
		for example:
  fl_initialize(argv[0], "Hinge", 0, 0, &argc, argv);

There's a hinge binary for linux at
ftp://ftp.geom.umn.edu/priv/trowley/hinge.gz.

Hope this helps you.
