Yes -- the result of "pick", or of other commands as selected by
  (interest (pick world))
or similar, is written to geomview's standard output if you:

 - invoked geomview with a "-c (interest (...))" command on its command line or
 - invoked geomview with "-c -" and entered the "(interest (...))" into
        geomview's standard input or
 - typed the "(interest (...))" command into a command panel.

Also, note the "(command inpipe outpipe)" command. If you create a pair
of named pipes and feed geomview the "command" command, geomview will read
GCL commands from inpipe and write corresponding replies to outpipe.
This is another way for a program to talk to a copy of geomview which
it's invoked as a subprocess.
