[ REQ 5527]: WebOOGL VRML trouble

Hi,

After hearing Tamara Munzner's excellent presentation at SIGGRAPH last
week, I decided to check out WebOOGL.

It downloaded and installed largely no problem, but I'm having a
little trouble. The troubleshooting web page tells you WHAT to look
for, but doesn't tell you what PROBLEMS might be caused by WHICH
fault.

I can view WebOOGL files no problem, but full VRML files fail to load.
All I get in the camera window is a blank field.

I have Perl 4.0 patch level 35, but you recommend pl 36 -- is this
problem related to that? Unfortunately I'm not in charge of our Perl
installation, so I want to be reasonably certain this will fix the
problem before badgering somebody to upgrade, then waiting for it to
happen.

I can see from the External Modules list that it executes a call to
gvgeturl.perl, but I don't know if it's working properly -- is there a
way I can tell, or execute this by hand?
