There certainly is an easy way to do this.  While your mouse pointer
is in the camera window, type "CB".  This should pop up the color
adjustment panel, which you can use to change the background color to
white.  If you always will want the background to be white, you could
also try adding the following command to your .geomview file:

(backcolor allcams 1 1 1)

With this added, cameras will have white backgrounds from now on.
