Yes, you can specify appearances in the LIST file.

Be careful, though: if you've specified an appearance via the Geomview
control panels, it will override anything specified in files you load.
The "Revert" button on geomview's Appearance panel will make it forget
about any settings you'd made from geomview itself, so that the files'
own appearances will be effective.

Also, when loading geometric data files, use the Animator's "Load" button,
not the "Script" button.
