Hmm, that's odd.  It looks ordinary enough, though old.  You're running
geomview while sitting at this machine's graphics console, so the
DISPLAY environment variable is set to ":0" (or ":0.0")?

One thing you might try would be to pick up a set of Irix 5 executables
for geomview; the ones we normally distribute are compiled under Irix 4,
and in a few environments they don't work under Irix 5 (or Irix 6).

You can fetch those from geom.umn.edu under
   priv/slevy/Geomview-irix5.tar.gz

Extract them from the parent of the Geomview directory, e.g. from
/usr/local if you'd installed Geomview in /usr/local/Geomview.
They'll overwrite Geomview/bin/sgi/gvx (Geomview executable), and various
other executables, with versions compiled under Irix 5.  Please let us
know whether this makes a difference.
