Re links -- nearly *all* the "ln" commands in our Makefiles are include-ed from just two files -- those two files should be all (or almost all) you'd need to change to turn "ln" into "ln -s" or something. Look at: .../Geomview/makefiles/Makerules.obj and Makerules.c++obj.
