[ REQ 5691]: geomview & Linux

Hello,
    I downloaded your linux version, but it won't work with my 1.2.13 ELF
kernel and libraries (complains about no lib****.so.3 files; my versions
are lib****.so.6). I downloaded the source and tried compiling an ELF
version but the executibles don't Make. Evidently the compiler is looking
for Motif (tm) libraries that aren't there. All Linux distributions that I
am aware of come with Fvwm (free) rather than Motif ($$$). What do I change
(in mk.linux and wherever else) to get the executibles compiled?
(I'm running gcc 2.7.0 )
