How does one use the 'read' command to apply the conditions that
were outputed using 'write'?  I thought the correct syntax would be

(read command <path> )

but that does not work.

I believe, unless I am doing something completely wrong, that something goes wrong when 'appearance's are parsed.  I tried using 'merge base-ap' in the
.geomview file and several other combinations with no sucess.  I only noticed
this because I was wondering what the fourth real number means when specifying
the position of a light source.
