installing Geometry Center software

Bill,
   I think the problem you were having with the CirclePack
package is due to typing "make" instead of "make install".
The first target in the Makefile is the tar file, which you
probably don't want to make.  To install the package, just
change the pathnames at the top of the Makefile according to the
comments there and type "make install".
    We should probably change the Makefile so that "make" with no
arguments does something reasonable but for now just do "make
install".
