geomview lines

I was trying out some thick vects.  Is there a way to set the
line capstyle, say to rounded ends?  Is there a way to set the
thickness in constant object terms, rather than pixels?  It is
disconcerting to zoom in and watch the lines shrivel as you 
approach.
