bug in alpha for geomview

  • To: software
  • Subject: bug in alpha for geomview

I have loaded and onethirdturn72.3off sphereB.geom from /work1/roseman
into geomview.

I want to make the first transparent, the sphere not.

So I set the alpha to a low value.

It doesn't look right--I've been told to expect that--but I thought I would come out OK if I
saved and rendered it. Result (s) are intersection and intersection2, rendered as the
corresponding tiff files. No alpha has been set. I also saved as geometry in
intersection.off. I note that in this file the alpha remains set at 1.
I even tried to save a "clearly" transprent copy of just the onethirdturn in onetransp.off.
This also was saved with alpha value i for all verticies.

there seem to other strange things happening--but this is the only one I have pinned down.

Will try to get around this in an awk-ward manner (changing the file using awk, then
rendering)
