color: smooth or chunky style?



Hi, Lance. 

Yes, you can display color by vertex with the OFF file format. In
order to see the per-vertex color in Geomview, you should select
smooth shading (in the Shading browser on the Appearance panel). We
don't currely have a DXF->OFF converter lying around, but it should be
pretty simple to write one. If you do and wish to make it public,
please let us know. Here's a sample OFF file with colored vertices:

CQUAD
-1 -1 0		1 0 0 1
1 -1 0		0 1 0 1
1 1 0		0 1 0 1
-1 1 0		1 0 0 1


By the way, we have just released a new version of Geomview (1.4.1),
which you may want to ftp from geom.umn.edu.
