Two comments:

First, I believe that Annalisa is generating these curves in Mma
(with ParametricPlot3D) and then showing them through Geomview.m;
I'm not sure what kind of (VECT?) object that produces in Geomview.

Several years ago (before PSsnapshot existed), I had some curves
(generated by my soliton program) which were VECTs in Geomview.
To get better pictures than a screen dump, I wrote a "vect2ps",
which must still exist somewhere, and converts a VECT file
to PS (though not interacting too smoothly with geomview's viewpoint).
