Compilation under Solaris 2.3

I have taken the beta source code and compiled it under
Solaris with gcc, using ucblib and ucbinclude. The compilation
is very clean except for -lsocket and -lgen which need to be added
in some makefiles. The clock demo works well, it is however impossible
to ""Load" or "Save". The window which comes up for this
is dead to the world. I looked in gvload.c but nothing looked too out of
place.
