A different yet similar question...

Although I'm hoping you might have an answer to my last question, as a last
resort, I could move everything over to SGI... Will the SGI binaries run
much faster? Significantly? Hopefully we can find a solution on the sun, but
SGI would be a last resort I suppose... Btw - I didn't fully discuss the
surroundings of the slowness - rotation... Obviously a pretty heft task, and
unfortunately I need it to get different perspectives of the organ I have
just constructed...
