Hmmm... I just tried a file like this:

LIST
{ < cube }
{ < dodec }

and it worked just fine. Is it possible that one of your objects is inside
the other object? A quick way to check this is turn faces off on your object
and edges on. I'm guessing that one of your object contains the other and
this will quickly become apparent if you try the above test.
