sphere object

Yet another sphere object: /u/gcg/ngrap/data/geom/unit.sphere, an
instance of the the little-known OOGL SPHERE data type. It's quite
concise:

SPHERE
1 0 0 0

(this means a sphere of radius 1 centered at 0,0,0)

The sphere is a bezier object, so the dicing commands work (GCL
command "dice", Appearance panel dice input, keyboard shortcut "ad").
Thus you can get anything from an octagon at level 2 to as perfect a
sphere as you'd like at level 20 and up. At one point the sphere
object normals were munged, but I think somebody (Stuart?) fixed that
code. I can't check now since I'm at an ASCII terminal.
