GeomView query

We are using GeomView for some visualization of sets of polyhedral
models. Typically, we have severa very complex polyhedra that are
stationary and we want to "fly" an object (say one of the
polyhedra) around the workspace, with translations and rotations.
(the application is collision detection)

Currently, we are generating random motions of the flying object.
But now we would like to have the user control the motion of the flying
object with use of the mouse (eg, simulating spaceball).

Is such a capability already implemented for GeomView? (or
do you know of existing code for this task?)
Any pointers or help would be most appreciated before we
end up re-implementing ("reinventing the wheel").

Thank you very much,
