Hi -- I'm sorry we didn't respond earlier, but NeXT mail is rather awkward
for us to read.

Anyway, the answer is very simple.  Vertex indices from a "pick" message
on an OFF primitive are exactly the same as the vertex indices you use
in describing the faces in the OFF object: they're integers from 0 to
<number of vertices in the OFF object> - 1.  Likewise, faces are numbered
in the order they appear in the OFF file, in the range from 0 to
<number of faces in the OFF object> - 1.
